My Wellness Registry FAQs  Get On The Road To Wellness!

WHAT IS My Wellness Registry?

Founded in 2010, the mission of My Wellness Registry is to empower consumers with the knowledge, skills, abilities, and credentialing required to encourage community level outreach dedicated to preventing illness, injury, disability, and disease and promoting lifelong well-being. Certainly you are familiar with CPR certification. My Wellness Registry accomplishes its mission through awarding the Consumer Wellness Advocate (CWA) certification.

IS THE CONSUMER WELLNESS ADVOCATE (CWA) CERTIFICATION THE SAME THING AS CPR?

The Consumer Wellness Advocate (CWA) is NOT the same thing as CPR or first aid certification. In fact, the information and program is completely different. CPR and first aid training provide the necessary skills to deal with unexpected health problems when they arise. The CWA focuses on the utilization of proven wellness principles that can prevent these difficulties from happening in the first place. My Wellness Registry recognizes the fact that, while not all health problems are avoidable, the majority of them can be prevented.

Frequently Asked Questions [FAQs] for Consumers

There are many reasons to become a certified Consumer Wellness Advocate (CWA). If you appreciate how being certified in CPR and first aid can help others in an emergency, then you must appreciate the value of actually preventing emergencies from happening in the first place. Imagine the quality of life you and your loved ones will enjoy once empowered with these emergency-prevention skills. Our model, entitled "Prevention Through Wellness!" includes valuable information and specific skills in 10 distinct wellness dimensions. (Think of this as an expanded version of the notion of mind, body, and spirit.)

Once you have successfully completed the CWA training program, you will join select individuals and your name will be officially added to My Wellness Registry. And, you will have the ultimate in education, motivation, and support, as you join other consumers and professionals on the online The CWA Network.

The founders of My Wellness Registry believe that, soon, those on the registry will enjoy additional benefits such as reduced health insurance premiums, work place, organizational, and school incentives, and deep product and service discounts. In fact, we urge you to inquire about these types of benefits as soon as you are certified.
The Consumer Wellness Advocate (CWA) certification program includes the following:
  • HALF-DAY COMPREHENSIVE WELLNESS WORKSHOP LED BY A REGISTERED CWA INSTRUCTOR.
  • INTERACTIVE PROGRAM PARTICIPATION GUIDE.
  • INNOVATIVE PERSONAL WELL-BEING PROFILE, THE RATING OF PERCEIVED WELLNESS (RPW).
  • OFFICIAL STATUS AS A CERTIFIED CWA ON My Wellness Registry.
  • BEAUTIFUL FRAME-READY CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION AND CERTIFICATION (DOWNLOADABLE).
  • ONE-YEAR MEMBERSHIP IN THE ONLINE CWA NETWORK.
The cost for the Consumer Wellness Advocate Certification Program is affordable, and is determined by your CWA Instructor. This one-time fee includes everything mentioned above. After the first year, there is a nominal renewal fee. This fee covers your continued membership in the CWA Network and your certification renewal. Unlike some certifications that require you to take multiple-choice exams and repeat trainings every couple of years in order to re-certify, our model is based upon continuous improvement. By simply participating in The CWA Network on a regular basis, your certification will stay current!
Other than a sincere interest in your own personal wellness and the well-being of those around you, no special requirements are necessary. However, in order to maintain your CWA after the first year, ongoing participation in The CWA Network is expected.

Frequently Asked Questions [FAQs] for Professionals

My Wellness Registry does not certify Instructors. Instead, it provides a comprehensive basic-training program for facilitating the CWA Certification Program. Instructors who meet specific standards and become faculty are added to My Wellness Registry, thereby receiving the designation, CWA Instructor.
There are many benefits of joining My Wellness Registry as a CWA Instructor. First, you will be added to the industry’s first and only national registry for professionals dedicated to delivering the CWA Certification Program. This will give you distinction among your colleagues and enhance your credibility among those you serve.

Second, CWA Instructors deliver the Consumer Wellness Advocate (CWA) Certification Program to consumers, earning significant income doing so. You can charge a participation fee for delivering the program to individuals and/or organizations. You can also offer the program as part of something bigger, such as a weekend wellness retreat or group of wellness/life coaching sessions. For example, let’s say that you would like to offer the CWA Certification Program to an organization for 20 people. You begin by purchasing participant certification packets from My Wellness Registry for $25.00 USD each (includes the participation guide, workshop, certification process, and one-year membership in the CWA Network). Next, you deliver the half-day training program to your group, charging a fee that you determine appropriate. For example, if you charge $79.99 USD per person (20 people total), you will generate just about $1,600.00 USD!

Third, the certification process provides a novel way to introduce you to potential clients/customers. The field of wellness coaching is in its infancy, and consumers are still trying to understand exactly what a wellness/life coach actually does. Becoming a CWA Instructor provides you with a tangible “product” to introduce you to perspective clients – serving as a gateway to the wellness coaching process and a long term relationship.

Finally, through participation in the online CWA Network (explained below), you will have ongoing contact with those you’ve trained and certified, providing a platform for nurturing lifelong and sustained relationships.
First, consumers participate in the four-hour initial workshop, delivered by you. During this time, they utilize the proprietary Rating of Perceived Wellness (RPW) tool, and ultimately assess themselves (with your professional guidance) in ten dimensions of well-being.

Next, participants logon to the CWA Network, register, enter their RPW scores, and receive their CWA certification.

Finally, participants participate in a number of engaging activities and enjoy dialogue (on our forum) with fellow CWA certified individuals (and instructors) on the CWA Network. They also are encouraged to review their RPW scores and, on a monthly basis, make any changes to them. Monthly self-paced participation in the CWA Network allows participants to keep their certification renewed year after year.

As you can see, the entire process is based upon a model of continuous improvement. It also utilizes an authentic self-assessment process. Additionally, the power of social media is realized through ongoing dialogue between certified individuals and their instructor.
The qualifications to become a CWA Instructor have been established to ensure the integrity and success of the Consumer Wellness Advocate (CWA) Certification Program and are modeled after the most popular CPR Instructor requirements.
